Clinical Study of Intussusception in Childrens



Abstract
to evauate the clinical analysis associated with intussusception in children. We studied 218 patients who had taken abdominal ultrasonography, impressed intussusception, at Sanggye Paik hopital during 1 year period January 1994 to December.
@ES The results were as follows:
@EN 1. The mean age was 1.45 years old, the most common age are under 1 year old (41.1%).
2. The sex ratio was 1.7:1 male predominant.
3. The number of intussusception with 3 symptoms(abdominal pain or irritability, voming, curent jelly stool) was 63 cases, two symptoms(abdominal pain, bloody stool) was 27 cases ad 3 cases had only one symptom(vomitting or bloody stool) but
they
were
intussusception.
4. Of the 53 cases with palpable abdominal mass, 47 cases were intussuscetion.
5. Of the 218 cases undeergone abdominal ultrasonography, 149 cases were intussuscetion.
6. The most common associated diseases was upper respiratory tract infection.
7. Of the 146 cases with intussusception, 119 cases were reducted by gastrographin enema, cases were failed, 1 cases was reducted by manual method.
8. of the 26 cases, failed by gastrographin reduction, 20 cases were reducted by surgically anual method and 5 cases were spontaneously reducted, 1 cases were resected.
